The objective of the Toiletry Box Project is to help underprivileged school teens regain their confidence and overcome low self –esteem at school. Many township and rural school girls are unable to afford basic toiletries such as sanitary pads, tooth paste, soap, tooth brush and deodorant etc due to their poverty.
This has resulted in many school girls becoming withdrawn, bullied and at times miss school. It’s important to notice the impact that the physical and emotional changes of puberty may be having on girl’s self-esteem and self image. Globally 8 out of 10 girls are discouraged from life activities when they don’t feel good about the way they look.
Sistagirl Foundation is embarking on this humbling journey to brighten the faces of many young girls in disadvantaged schools with a TOILETRY BOX donated by caring individuals and other sponsors.
If you are interested in taking part in the campaign, all you have to do is to buy basic girls toiletries such soap, sanitary pads, lotion, tooth brush, face cloth and deodorant etc. Then place all items inside an empty shoe box, nicely wrapped with your message of hope addressed to a girl’s child.
Lastly post the Toiletry Box to:
4 Coke Street,
West Park, 0183,
Pretoria, South Africa
Remember to get your family, friends, co-workers to get involved in the campaign and help us bring our girl’s confidence back. We can collect 10+ boxes from those living around Gauteng.
